Bedford Womens Centre is based in the Raleigh Centre which is in the Cauldwell ward of Bedford on Ampthill Road. Our aim is to support women in the community to improve the quality of life for them and their families. We offer one to one support and mentoring, weekly workshops, training courses (both accredited and non-accredited) and support groups for women to promote healthy relationships and eradicate Domestic Abuse. The centre is run by Family Groups Bedford, which is a registered charity who have provided services to the local community since 1982.
We deliver workshops each week on a Monday and Thursday, term time, with a crèche for children under 5 years old. Women can relax and make friends while taking part in activities such as Sewing, Cooking Arts and Crafts etc.
We train Emergency First Aid At Work (6 hours), Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) and First Aid Awareness For Parents (2.5 hours). Courses can be delivered at a suitable location of your choice or on our site
We have an on-site crèche at our centre. Our qualified crèche team are dedicated to ensure that both parents/carers and the children have a positive experience and any additional support they may need.
